Цели:
• Познавательный аспект: познакомить учащихся с праздником «Рождество», его традициями и особенностями.
• Воспитательный аспект: воспитывать у учащихся чувство уважения к национальным традициям и праздникам.
• Учебный аспект: практиковать учащихся в устной речи и аудировании.
• Развивающий аспект: формировать положительную мотивацию учения, развивать внимание, воображение, догадку.
Оснащение: слайд-презентация, стихи, DVD ROM The Story of Santa Claus Express Publishing.
- T: Good Morning, dear children! I’m glad to see. We are going to celebrate Christmas today. We’ll sing songs, guess riddles, play and watch a Christmas story. On the 25th of December British people celebrate Christmas, a beautiful holiday, which is loved by children and adults.Слайды 1-2. - Everything is decorated with lights and toys. We see Christmas trees everywhere. Слайды 3-4. - People cook special food: Christmas pudding, cookies, turkey.Слайды 5 -6. -They also send cards and have parties. Слайд 7. -Santa Claus comes from the North Pole to visit girls and boys. Слайд 8. -He goes through the chimney and fills Christmas stockings with presents for children. Слайд 9. .Цели игры: рассмотреть детали на видео, развивать концентрацию внимания, задавать и отвечать на вопросы по содержанию. Ход игры: 1.Перед просмотром третьей части истории одному ученику или паре раздаются вопросы, на которые они должны найти ответы во время просмотра: 1.What colour is the angel’s dress? 2. What colour is Santa’s sleigh? 3. What colour is angel’s hair? 4. Who is wearing glasses? 5. How many elves are there in the story? 6. Who is wearing green hats? 7. What colour is Santa’s coat? 8. How many magic reindeer are there in the story? 9. Who has got wings? 10. Who has got big ears? 12. What’s the weather like? 13. Who has got a red bag? 14. Who has got a shining nose? Проверяется понимание вопросов. 2.После просмотра класс делится на две команды. 3.Пары из каждой команды по очереди задают вопросы и сами отвечают на вопрос, если другая команда не знает ответа. За правильный ответ каждая команда получает бал. Выигрывает та команда, у которой больше правильных ответов
В конце мероприятия командам раздаются слова, из которых они должны составить предложения: Christmas is a beautiful holiday. We wish you a Merry Christmas.
Дети поют и смотрят на видео разученную заранее песню Jingle Bells.

После внеклассного мероприятия детям предлагается изготовить рождественские открытки и принять участие в письменной викторине посвященной рождественским традициям в качестве домашнего задания. Затем свои работы дети вкладывают в свой языковой портфель.
