Конспект урока в 4 классе

TravellingandTransport

Цель: Совершенствование лексико - грамматических навыков по теме “TravellingandTransport”, подготовка к монологическому высказыванию по теме.

Используемые педагогические технологии: коммуникативная технология, работа в парах, управляемый диалог.

Задачи:

 

    Образовательные:

продолжать совершенствовать лексико-грамматические навыки и умения учащихся в аудировании, чтении и говорении по теме, формировать навыки активного речевого поведения, развития творческих способностей учащихся.

     Развивающие: развивать мышление, память, самостоятельность, совершенствовать

навыки связной речи, развивать интеллект и познавательные способности.

     Воспитательные:

воспитывать у учащихся любовь, желание путешествовать всеми видами транспорта, повышать познавательный интерес к английскому языку, прививать интерес к путешествиям.

Ход урока

1. Орг. момент

Teacher: Good morning, children! How are you today?

Sit down, please. What date is it today? What day is it today? What season is it today?

 

2. Настрой учащихся на работу и сообщение темы урока

Teacher: Look at the blackboard! There is 1 picture and names of the cities:

London, Kiev, Moscow, Tver, Odessa, Paris, Berlin, Helsinki

 

You can see different means of transport and different cities. What will be the theme of the lesson?

Pupil 1: Travelling and Transport.

Teacher: You are right! Let’s start the lesson with the poem “Trains”.

Repeat after me: over, mountains, plains, rivers, here, trains, passengers, country.

Let’s recite the poem all together.

Well-done!

Teacher: Now look at the first picture and match words with pictures.

Look at the second picture and say how people got to different places last summer.

Ahmed lives in Cairo. Every day at 9 am he goes to school with his dad by car.  He likes looking at all the people going by. There are many people on the bus. He is happy that he doesn’t have to go to school by bus. He would like to go by bicycle, but it’s very dangerous. He sees a policeman on his motorcycle. Ahmed wants to be a policeman when he grows up. The traffic is very fast. Suddenly the car has stopped. Look! There’s a man on a horse in the middle of the road!

Teacher: Answer the questions:

  1. Where does Ahmedlive?
  2. How does he go to school?
  3. Does he like to look at the people?
  4. Would he like to go to school by bus or by bicycle?
  5. Why doesn’t he go to school by bicycle?
  6. Whom does he see on a motorcycle?

Teacher: Read the text “Travelling” (Приложение3) and name all means of transport from the text.

Travelling

Modern life is impossible without travelling. Thousands of people travel every day on business or for pleasure. They can travel by air, by train, by sea or by road.

Travelling by air is the fastest and the most comfortable, but is the most expensive too.

Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but has its advantages. You don’t have to wait for hours at the airport with thousands of other passengers. You just go to the station a few minutes before the train leaves, buy a ticket, get on train and the journey begins.

You can look at things through the windows, have a sleep, read a book or go for a walk up and down the train. There is usually someone interesting to talk to and when you get hungry, you can eat your food. If you didn’t bring any food with you, there’s often a restaurant or a small cafe on the train where you can buy some food and a drink.

You can see many interesting places of the counter while on a train. Also modern trains have very comfortable seats. Speed, comfort and safety are the main advantages of trains and plains. That is why many people prefer them to all means of transport.

Travelling by sea is very popular. On board the ship you can enjoy your trip. There are tennis and badminton courts, a swimming-pool, a cinema and a dancing hall there. When you travel by ferry you can see the rise and fall of the waves, feel the fresh sea wind blowing in the face and hear the cry of the seagulls.

Many people like to travel by car. It is interesting, because you can see many things in a short time. It’s convenient, because you needn't reserve tour tickets. You can stop when and where you like, you do not have to buy tickets or carry your suitcases.

A very popular method of travelling is hiking. It is travelling on foot. Walking tours are very interesting. Hitch-hiking is a very popular method of travelling among young people. But it is not so popular in our country as abroad.

Almost all people are fond of travelling. It is very interesting to see new places, another towns and countries. Travelling helps people to learn the country better, to know about customs and traditions of different places, to meet people and make friends with them.

Teacher: We know that a lot of people are fond of travelling. Why do people like to travel?

Pupil 1: Travelling is one of the ways to learn about different countries, people’s culture, and interesting places.

Teacher: How can people travel?

Pupil 2: They can travel by car, by plane, by ship, by bus, on foot…….

Teacher: Why do some people prefer to travel by car?

Pupil 3: They can stop when and there they want and enjoy nature.

Teacher: Why do some people like to travel by sea?

Pupil 4: I think there is nothing like travelling by sea. You can swim in the swimming pool, enjoy the wind, seagulls and the sea.

Teacher: Why do people like to travel by plane?

Pupil 5: It’s the quickest means of transport and comfortable.

Teacher: Why do some people like to travel by train?

Pupil 6: Some people think that travelling by train is the most convenient and not very expensive.

Teacher: What do people do on the board the plane?

Pupil 7: They read books, eat, listen to the music, watch films, surf the Net, sleep and read newspapers and magazines.

Teacher: How do you like to travel and why? Answer the question using the phrases:

As for me I prefer travelling………..

For me there is nothing better than travelling ……..

Now work in pairs. Role-play the dialogue. You should make up the same dialogue about your trip, don't forget to greet your friend and ask if he/she is fine. You may also ask him/her some more questions. The words from the blackboard will help you.
