Цель:совершенствовать навыки коммуникативной речи по теме.

 

Образовательныезадачи:

1.     совершенствовать навыки чтения с извлечением нужной информации;

2.      совершенствовать навыки аудирования;

3.     совершенствовать навыки диалогической речи по теме;

 

 

Воспитательные задачи:

1.     воспитывать трудолюбие и усидчивость;

2.     воспитывать чувство товарищества и понимания партнёра;

 

 

Развивающие задачи:

1.     содействовать развитию творческого мышления;

2.     содействовать расширению кругозора;

3.     содействовать развитию догадки и сообразительности;

 


ХОД УРОКА

Организационный момент:  (приветствие)

         T: Hello, teenagers. Good morning. I’m glad to see you. Seat down, please, and let’s start our English lesson. Who is on duty today? Tell us about the day.

S: Today is the 16-th of March. It’s Wednesday. It’s Spring. The weather is good. I like it.

 T: Look at the pictures. Describe the weather.

         S:  It’s hot, sunny. The weather is nice.

         T: Read the poem: «Travel». [Slide 1]What shall we speak about at our lesson?

          Today we are to talk, listen, and read about summer travelling. [slide2]

         [slide3] Read the motto of the lesson. What does it mean?

T: Read the conversation and make up your own dialogue.

 

A: Where are you going to spend your holiday, Ban?

B: We may go abroad. I’m not sure. My mum wants to go to the USA. I’d like to go there, too.

A: Will you travel by sea or by air?

B: We may travel by sea.

A: It’s cheaper, isn’t it?

B: It may be cheaper, but it takes a long time.

A: I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourselves.

B: So am I.

Ionian Islands

 

S: I’d like to tell you some information about that amazing place in our planet. Today Ionian     Islands are very famous for visiting tourists from all over the world.

 

There is a plan on the screen you can see. I’m going to tell you about them.

•      Activities

 

  1. The Ionian Islands are a group of islands in Greece. They are traditionally called the Heptanese, i.e. "the Seven Islands", but the group includes many smaller islands as well as the seven principal ones.
  2. The six northern islands are off the west coast of Greece, in the Ionian Sea. The seventh island, Kythira, is off the southern tip of the Peloponnese, the southern part of the Greek mainland. Kythira is not part of the periphery of the Ionian Islands, as it is included in the periphery of Attica.
  3. The islands were settled by Greeks at an early date, possibly as early as 1200 BC, and certainly by the 9th century BC. The early Eretrian settlement at Kerkyra was displaced by colonists from Corinth in 734 BC. The islands were mostly a backwater during Ancient Greek times and played little part in Greek politics. The one exception was the conflict between Kerkyra and its mother-City Corinth in 434 BC, which brought intervention from Athens and triggered the Peloponnesian War.
  4. It’s necessary to tell about activities there. On the screen you can see some of them.

 

For example, first, you can rent a little ship or a yacht there, and then you can enjoy water skiing or take a scooter. And finally you can relax in a beach café.

 

So, after all, we can say, that Ionian Islands need our visiting and it’s a very beautiful and amazing place.

     2) Special task for those who’d like to try themselves as interpreters. Translate the poem: «Travel».
